I had always intended to start this blog, but I kept procrastinating. So it was nearly three weeks into the trip before I finally got going with it. And I totally forgot about Beauvoir.
When we were traveling from Gulf Shores to New Orleans, we took a short detour into Biloxi, MS to see Beauvoir, the home of Jefferson Davis. We were led on the tour by an elderly lady in period costume who told us all about "President Davis" and his family. This lovely place was almost destroyed by Katrina, but enough money was raised that it's apparently much better than before. Funny how that works some times.
