We're Off!

Rick and I have been planning this trip for years. When we retired and moved to Florida, people would ask "won't it be awfully hot in the summer?" And my response was always "we don't plan to be there in the summer." Seeing the country by RV has been a dream of mine for quite a while, and we're fortunate to have the time and the means to do it. In January, we traded in our fifth wheel and Rick's beloved Dodge pickup for a 27 foot 10 inch motorhome. We were tired of always chasing diesel stations, so we opted for a V-10 Ford engine this time.  Of course that was before gas prices went through the roof.

We have named our new "rig" the HMS Liberty. It's HMS rather than USS because Rick and our neighbors Bob and Betty inexplicably persist in calling me "her majesty." What's up with that???

HMS Liberty is quite a bit smaller than we're used to.  We have a small kitchen, a tiny bathroom, a dinette, and twin beds. We're still working on finding a place for everything.

We're towing our 2003 Saturn L-300 which we use to get around once we reach our various destinations.  It has also been very useful for additional storage.  Rick's golf clubs, among other things, are riding along in the trunk of the Saturn.

Rick's two cents
From time to time I will have something trivial to input. Tech issues etc...
Installed a Pressure Pro, tire pressure monitoring system with some limited success.  One sensor was bad right from jump street.  I drove to Orlando the week before we left to get it replaced.  Everything seems ok now...jury is still out though.
