Gulf Shores, AL

Thurs May 5 - Tues May 10
We spent 5 wonderful nights in Gulf Shores, AL at Gulf State Park. The weather was beautiful and the park was also very nice. We discovered this place last Fall and were so glad to have the chance to return. This state park rivals any luxury private resort. We were across the street from the beach.  There was also a really nice pool and a golf course.  Rick played twice.

We took a day trip to Bellingrath Gardens outside of Mobile. It had been the home of  Walter Bellingrath and his wife. In 1903 Walter bought the rights to distribute CocaCola in southern Alabama. He became very wealthy and built this lovely home on the Fowl River. But as lovely as the house is, it's the gardens that really knock your socks off. You could spend the entire day touring these beautiful grounds. Rick has promised me that, even if he can't make gardens for me like the kind that Walter made for his wife, at least he's going to plant me some Hydrangeas and Camellias!

Rick's two cents
Nice golf course for the money.  Very forgiving fairways.
Pressure Pro system is giving some strange alarms.  I  re-programmed the system and it is working again.  Stay tuned.
